Well here it is, My first entry into the 2003 CCIV. I choose a Reaper miniature as my entry and decided to do a display base to show her off. After the names were revealed, I was asked many times where I got or how I made the base. This is what I did. So You would think I was actually bright enough to take in progress pictures LOL Sad to say I didn't, so I can't show you this. But yup, I made it from "stuff". The stone wall and floor is thick plastic sheet with stone patterns that I got from a model RR store. The wall is just two layers glued back to back and cut out along a random stone pattern to get the damaged effect. The Idol was a little resin statue I picked up years ago at a model show. I have 2 more somewhere. I took ball bur with a motor tool to it and damaged it up and carved the crack lines into it. The heavy vines are green putty(Kneedatite) rolled out into thin rolls or "snakes" and just draped and placed like vines would grow. The leaves are brass photo etched leaves. I next added some sand and gravel here and there and a few bones and other bits and then painted it.The trade mark water is a two part epoxy with a little color pigment in it. I tried to do a lighting effect as if the fire demon was casting of the redish glow. Thats about it. $200.00
